If you want to experience the majesty Highlands of Scotland, but only have a limited amount of time to spare, then try our 'Touch of the Highlands' Tour. This is a beautiful, relaxed tour, perfect for those who want to take it easy, stroll through the Scottish countryside and get a feel for the grandeur of our high country.
Head for the Highlands…
We begin our journey into the Highlands by travelling across the Forth Road Bridge, from which you can see the famous Forth Railway Bridge and the new Queensferry Crossing, as you head into the Kingdom of Fife. Arriving in the picturesque village of Dunkeld, you’ll have time to see the cathedral or to stroll along the River Tay. You will then continue onto the quaint Highland town of Pitlochry - a favourite destination of Queen Victoria and Victorian-era sightseers - where you can purchase lunch or browse the village shops.
A view fit for a queen...
When Queen Victoria visited Perthshire in 1866, she assumed the spectacular sweeping view of Queen’s View was named after her. This view is more likely named after the first wife of Robert the Bruce, but regardless, it is certainly fit for a queen! Take a moment and enjoy the magnificent vista across Loch Tummel and the Schiehallion mountain.
Through the Sma' Glen to Glen Turret Distillery...
As we enter the Sma’ Glen, the Highlands truly take over, with imposing mountains towering over you as you travel towards Glenturret Distillery. Founded in 1775, Glenturret Distillery is hidden in a beautiful glen - making it an attractive location to both artists and whisky smugglers! Arriving at the home of the Famous Grouse brand, you will have the unique opportunity to sample whisky from the cask in a tutored tasting*, in a real whisky warehouse!
*Optional extra subject to availability.
Relax and take in the Highland views as we turn towards Edinburgh, passing through Stirlingshire and the beautiful Stirling Castle on the way home.
