Tour Description

This Private tour has been designed to give you a unique experience discovering the outskirts of Edinburgh. On this tour we go from a hill to a cave to a castle then to a whisky distillery. This is a customizable tailor-made tour and the itinerary can be adjusted to your request.

Your private local guide will meet you at your hotel and then take you to Arthur's Seat. Edinburgh's highest peak, sits at a height of 822ft (250m). Offering great views of the city and it's surroundings. If the High Road is closed we will offer Calton Hill as a substitution.

Then we go to Craigmillar Castle as an alternative. A medieval tower house castle once home to the Preston family. Mary Queen of Scots is said to have slept in 1566. The tower offers great views of the city.

After we go for lunch at Dalhousie Castle Hotel. This castle dates back to the 13th century and still has its medieval dungeon (now used as part of the restaurant). It has had many developments through-out the years. In 2000 it was transformed into a modern luxury hotel. It is also home to many ghosts including Lady Catherine, aka the Grey Lady.

Then finally we make our way to Glenkinchie Distillery. Here we learn the process of making Scotland's Spirit. A lowland whisky it has a very light taste, perfect for beginers. As Glenkenchie is part of Diageo you also have the opportunity for a second tasting from another whisky region.
