Loch Ness, the Highlands and all aboard the Jacobite Steam Train

The Jacobite Tour will take you through a landscape rich in history, myth and legend - among the sites you'll see will be Culloden, last stand of the Jacobites against the British government forces. You'll be travelling through some of the best scenery in Scotland - from the dizzying heights of the Drumochter Pass to the stunning peaks of the Cairngorms national park. The first days ends at Drumnadrochit, a beautiful and welcoming village on the shores of Loch Ness. Why not take a boat tour over to Urquhart Castle* (with the best story-teller on the water), visit the Loch Ness 2000 Exhibition*, or just monster hunt from the shore?
 
Day two takes you further into the Highlands to Fort William, where you'll board the Jacobite Steam Train. The 84 mile round trip will take you past Britain's highest mountain, deepest loch, shortest river and most westerly station. What's more, you'll travel over the very viaduct that the Hogwarts Express crosses in the Harry Potter films. You'll also pass the Glenfinnan Monument which marks the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard at the beginning of the 1745 Jacobite rising. Lunch is at the west coast town of Mallaig, where you can taste the best of Scottish seafood.

Turning south, you'll visit Glen Coe, where the MacDonalds were betrayed, and experience the beauty of Stirlingshire. At each stop our guides will be there to bring the history alive for you. By the end of the tour, you'll have had a real Jacobite adventure and a train ride through history.
