Tour Description:

Enjoy a day tour to the intriguing Rosslyn Chapel, experience the pretty Border town of Melrose and explore its Abbey, and then led from the spiritual to the spiritful with a tour and a taste at Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery.
From our start point by Edinburgh Castle we head out of the city to the unassuming little village of Roslin, making our first stop at Rosslyn Chapel, the 'Chapel of Codes', with its Templar and freemasonry associations; the chapel also well-known for featuring in Dan Brown's blockbusting novel "The Da Vinci Code."
We then move on to visit the mystical Rosslyn Glen, and the ancient Castle of the same name, ancestral home of the Sinclair family, as well as the nearby battlefield where a Scots army defeated three English armies in the same day!
Leaving Rosslyn we commence our journey into the heart of the Scottish Borders, an area rich in hills, valleys, rivers and moor-land, as well as the traditional home to Scottish rugby. We travel to the historic town of Melrose, birthplace of the game of Rugby Sevens, and location of Melrose Abbey, founded in 660, said to be the burial place of the casket containing the heart of Robert The Bruce. Here we stop for lunch and have time to explore Melrose and its Abbey.
On our return journey, we travel north to Pencaitland where we visit Glenkinchie Distillery - one of few Lowland whisky distilleries in Scotland - for an optional 'tour and a taste' and to learn more about the 'water of life' before we return to Edinburgh.
