The Games of the Commonwealth were held in Glasgow in 2014 and was a very successful sporting event. Because of this success we would like to welcome any sports teams or enthusiasts to Scotland.
Go Scotland Tours would be more than happy to welcome you to city with many nicknames, including Glasgow "Scotland with Style". This is the third time the games will be held in Scotland, previously in Edinburgh 1970 and 1986. The country has a proud history of sports excellence. Glasgow has been preparing for this event to take way at such venues as Hampden Park, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, and the brand new Hydro Stadium built especially for the Commonwealth Games.
We can arrange transport on your arrival and departure, then give you an introduction to the city with a panoramic tour. Then while in Scotland why not take the opportunity to explore more of the country. Glasgow is only a 40 minute journey to Loch Lomond, 40 minutes to Stirling Castle, 1 hour to the historic capital city of Edinburgh, 50 minutes to Robert Burns country... The Highlands are a bit of a longer distance but well worth the effort.
Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and since the Industrial Revolution has been considered the Second City of the Empire. There is much to see in its history such as Glasgow Cathedral, the University, Kelvingrove Museum, and the Glenlee Tallship. It is also a very modern city with some of the finest shopping available. Glasgow also has a range of different types of restaurants for all tastes, Go Scotland Tours would be please to take you on an evening out.
