Guide - Mike O'Rourke

An outstanding trip! Considering my disastrous rail journey up to Scotland, Mike simply changed the trip to be in reverse order so I didn't miss a thing and on top of that, included some extras for an activity packed 3 days. I found Mike very amiable and professional, always keen to ensure I was having a good time without being pushy but always ensuring we kept our tight schedule. Particularly impressive was his knowledge of Scotland and its history, developed through his personal interest and enthusiasm, and it was a pleasure to be in his company for the 3 days - I have no hesitation in recommending him and will most certainly be booking a follow up trip with him!

Our tour was great. Very interesting. Our guide was also very nice and informative and we appreciated the time she took with us and all of the details she provided/questions she answered.

We had a great time with Go Scotland! Our guide Fiona was excellent and her french was perfect. We went to visit the Edradour distillery and the Blair Castle, both visits were worthwhile, I would highly recommend doing such a tour when visiting Edinburgh.

Fantastic tour and a superb guide. Alnwick Castle is amazing and the coastal areas near Berwick and the border villages like Kelso are great places to visit.

it was a nice and good organized tour! Our tour guide was excellent - we (from switzerland - german speaking) understand him well. he told us much about scotish weather, scotish Population (moves) and scotish music! perhaps in future he would told more about typical animals and tree (Fauna and Flora), especially what is produced (sheep, beef....). Aberfeldy distillery was intersting - Guide Tom's slang was too much for us - but no problem. it was a good decision to book this tour! a nice day! regards Thomas

My husband and I did the 1 Day Skye and Eilean Donan Castle Tour from Inverness (May 1 2017). At booking, I was a little skeptical about the legitimacy of the tour because the website isn't as polished as other tours but these Tours are a hidden gem! The differences are small but powerful: firstly, you're not on a midi-bus with up to 30 people, but rather in a small intimate minibus of 10-14 the perfect size. That small number means you can get on/off at more stops, more quickly and the sites you see aren't encumbered by a swarm of people. The bus itself is beautiful clean, leather seats, large windows and high ceilings with forced air and electrical outlets for your cameras/phones. However, the highlight for me was our guide, Helen. Though young in years, she has graduate-level preparation in history and culture studies so she seamlessly integrated music, folklore and facts into her commentary. She had great enthusiasm that kept the 12 hr long-tour exciting and upbeat. You will not regret choosing this tour!

Excellent holiday. Best guide! Thanks Emily Inverness was a great starting point - with very enjoyable and interesting tour up to ferry on first day. Plenty of stop off points with lots to see. Very comfortable minibus with friendly travellers and some hilarious interludes. The tour included all the amazing pre-historic sites as advertised but also lots more - more recent history, cultural contexts, nature, scenery, food,drink......... Although it was only 3 days, my daughter and I feel like we've had a really BIG holiday. Great experience -lots packed in without ever feeling like it was a rush.Wish we were still there! The B&B was great too - very clean, comfortable and friendly.
