Tour Description:

A stunning day tour of the Highlands, a land of forests, mountains, rivers and glens. Visit a local whisky distillery and sample a warming dram of single malt whisky. Returns to Edinburgh in time for an evening at the world famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
We leave Edinburgh behind and pass Stirling with views of its impressive Castle and the Wallace Monument. Then it's into the Highlands through the scenic beauty of The Trossachs National Park, once home to the infamous cattle thief and rogue, Rob Roy MacGregor. We follow the shoreline of beautiful Loch Earn before visiting a local Whisky Distillery where you can take an optional tour, learn how the 'water of life' is made and sample a wee dram for yourself. We then explore the peaceful Hermitage and
take a short woodland walk to see the spectacular Black Linn Falls on the River Braan. We take in Dunkeld with its spectacular cathedral on the banks of the River Tay before returning south past the inspiring Forth Bridge. On returning to Edinburgh you will have free time to return to your accommodation or explore the city before making your own way to the evening performance of the Military Tattoo at the spectacular Edinburgh Castle.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo draws together a host of creative talent from four continents to pay sparkling tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee and the year of Creative Scotland.
This will be the 62nd extravaganza to be staged at the Scottish capital's ancient Castle - a spectacular and inspiring backcloth for this remarkable and internationally acclaimed event. With innovative production, heart-stopping sound, imaginative graphics, state-of-the-art lighting and specially commissioned fireworks, the 90-minute show is set to captivate a large cosmopolitan audience. The line-up of nearly 1000 performers includes hundreds of musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers, as well as one of the World's most sensational percussion groups: Switzerland's Top Secret Drum Corps. Notes for customers with mobility problems - Castlehill, where performances of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo take place, is reached via a short walk on an old cobbled street of some 80 metres and on a steep incline. Some people may find this difficult. There is a further 60 metres after this followed by a dozen or so steps to be negotiated before reaching the seated area, which is steeply tiered. If this is a significant issue for you, please advise us prior to booking in order for us to ascertain whether this is suitable for you
