Tour Description:
A stunning journey through the Highlands including an overnight stay at Loch Ness. Explore dramatic Highland scenery and hear tales of Scotland's epic history with our expert Scottish Guides. Highlights include infamous Loch Ness, haunting Glencoe, wild and remote Rannoch Moor, the Wallace Monument and a Highland whisky distillery.
DAY ONE: Heading north, past stunning views of the Forth Bridge, we enter the Highlands through Perthshire, a land of forests, rivers and mountains. We make a stop at Dunkeld, a quaint village by the River Tay, famous for its cathedral. Then, skirting the dramatic Pass of Killiecrankie, site of the famous 17th Century Jacobite battle, we journey on to the haunting ruins of Ruthven Barracks. We discover the beauty of the Cairngorms 
National Park, with a stop for lunch in the Highland village of Aviemore. Then we follow the shores of legendary Loch Ness en route to the charming village of Fort Augustus. There is the opportunity to take an optional boat cruise and go Nessie spotting, docking at Urquhart Castle, where the monster has been spotted many times.(Overnight: Fort Augustus)
DAY TWO: We start the day passing through Fort William, a coastal town that sits beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. We continue our journey through dramatic Glencoe, 
scene of the infamous massacre in 1692 and over the wilds of Rannoch Moor onto Rob Roy country. We visit one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries for lunch and you have the option to take a guided tour and discover how Scotland's most famous drink is made. On our return to the Capital, we stop in Stirling (the ancient Capital of Scotland) and visit the impressive Wallace Monument.
