Tour Description:

The King James IV Royal Whisky-Tasting Occasion.
From the monarch who ordered fifteen hundred bottles of malt from Friar John Cor of Fife, thus giving the drink its first mention in Scots history, the Whisky King is available for extolling the virtues of Highland, Lowland and Islay malts.
His Majesty will entertain and inform in a presentation evoking memories of the clans, illicit stills and the curse of the exciseman!
The King will provide an excellent choice from the Royal Cellar and a relaxing time is guaranteed for all.
"Whisky? That's MY department. King James IV of Scotland, the country's first Renaissance monarch. It was my request to the monks at Newburgh for two thousand bottles of malt whisky that sees the first written mention of Scotland's national drink in the history books. I shall be happy to enlighten you as to its many fine qualities and from the royal cellar I shall have brought forth whiskies of distinct variety but all of the highest royal standard, that I may educate your palate into the ways of discerning between them.
Should the company be conducive, I can read you verse that pertains to my love of 'the water of life' and if you so desire, the royal harpist can be called upon to add further sophistication to the occasion. It is so much more civilised now that Bruce and Wallace have gone."
