    Tour Description:

Aberdeen Castles Tour - DunottarPrivately guided tour from Aberdeen to Scotland's Castle Country.
A testament to the bloodthirsty past of Aberdeenshire. Today we visit two very different castles - Dunottar and Crathes.

We first head to the seaside town of Stonehaven to explore Dunnottar Castle. This iconic castle sits on a rocky outcrop glaring out to the North Sea. It is one of our most photographed castles & was the backdrop the film "Hamlet" starring Mel Gibson.

Aberdeen Castles Tour - CrathesAn impregnable fortress, its walls have witnessed many dramas over the centuries. We visit the castle and learn its story. Sensible footwear is recommended as there is a 10minute walk to the castle along a rough path.
After our visit we stop for coffee in Stonehaven. A picturesque town which "stars" on television every New Year thanks to its fireball ceremony.

We now travel to our second castle of the day - Crathes. This will also be our lunch stop today. This 16th century castle is now in the care of The National Trust for Scotland, but was the home of the Burnett family for nearly 400 years. Over the centuries it evolved from a defensive structure to a sumptuous home.
    Fort William and Glenfinnan Tour
We tour the castle and explore the gardens with their yew hedges planted in 1702.

Our final stop of the day is at the Falls of Feugh for tea and traditional scones. We may also be lucky enough to see salmon battling against the torrents of water attempting to return to their spawning grounds after 7 years at sea!
